Intellectual Property Rights

It is important to consider whether you own the copyright in a work you create or whether the copyright is owned by the University. The University’s Intellectual Property Policy sets forth the standards for determining the rights and obligations of the University’s creators of intellectual property, including copyright. The policy applies to faculty, staff (including student employees), graduate students, post-doctoral fellows, and non-employees (including visiting faculty, affiliate and adjunct faculty, industrial personnel, fellows, etc.).¬†For more information, see Washington University’s Intellectual Property Policy.
